Why we built it
Integrity in research is usually handled with assurance — a statement, a policy, a name on a form. Assurance asks you to believe. It breaks quietly, and you only find out long after the work has been published, funded, or built upon.
North Keeper replaces that with proof. We turn the things that matter — ethical consent, reproducibility, responsible spending — into deterministic checks: the same inputs give the same answer, every time, for anyone who runs them. The result is a True North Certificate, a single statement of where an institution stands that anyone can verify for themselves.
Nothing here rests on taking our word for it. That is the entire point.

North Keeper is a product of North Star Tech Oy (Business ID 3632278-1), a company building infrastructure for verifiable trust. We are a small team that prefers shipping checkable things over making claims — which is, more or less, the product too.
